Dr. Paul Krause, who strives to bring a well-rounded, holistic approach to his patients’ lives, leads better Back and Body. He has been in private practice on the eastside since 1995.  He attended Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1994.  He has been practicing at his current location in Juanita Beach since 2008.

Dr. Krause was in a head on collision and a rollover car accident before the age of 12.  He was unfortunately an unbelted passenger in both accidents.  In each of the accidents no one was severely injured and recovery seemed quick.  As a teenager, Dr. Krause suffered an injury to his lower back playing high school basketball.
Dr. Paul Krause
He was referred to the only chiropractor in the small town in eastern Washington where he grew up.  X-rays showed prior injury to Dr. Krause’s spine from the automobile accidents he was in as a child.  The chiropractor explained how the injuries from the automobile accidents never healed properly from not treating them and how that caused problems and spinal changes over the years.  Even though it appeared that everyone was okay from the automobile accidents, the chiropractor explained that the spinal changes were beginning to take its toll.  He outlined a treatment plan of chiropractic adjustments and after a series of adjustments the lower back pain settled down and Dr. Krause was back to his normal routine after a few weeks.  He has continued his chiropractic care being a regular chiropractic patient since the age of 17.

While in chiropractic school, Dr. Krause met and started treating with Dr. Vern Pierce.  Dr. Pierce had developed a chiropractic adjusting style that resonated with Dr. Krause and he started to use that technique while in student clinic with great success. He has crafted that technique over the past 22 years to obtain the good results he gets today.  He enjoys teaching his patients and the public about health and wellness.  Dr. Krause takes care of people of all ages with a variety of health conditions.
When not in the office, Dr. Krause enjoys working on cars, traveling and spending time with his family. He lives in Kirkland, WA.

If you suffer from chronic pain in your neck, back, arms or other parts of your body, you’ve probably tried suppressing it with medications, stretches, physical therapy and you may have even considered surgery in order to get the relief you so desperately want. Fortunately you have another option. Skilled chiropractors are able to treat many different types of pain without the need for pain pills or surgical procedures. But how are they able to do so? That depends upon an initial diagnosis.

Initial Exam

Many times pain issues that occur within your extremities or in your head can be attributed to referred pain from the back. This means that there is an issue in your spine that is radiating to other parts of your body and is not actually associated with a problem where the pain is being experienced. Depending on where the pain is being felt a chiropractor can determine if the pain is actually coming from the spine and where in the spine the pain is originating.

Chiropractic Treatment

Depending on the type of pain that you’re having your chiropractor will develop a treatment plan that will involve different types of therapies. These can involve spinal manipulation, at home exercises and other adjustments as necessary. The amount of treatment required will depend on the severity of your condition and the effectiveness of the therapy.

What Types of Chronic Pain can be Treated?

There are many different types of conditions that can be treated by chiropractic care. These include issues such as a herniated disc, sciatica, whiplash, pain in your arms and legs, kyphosis, spinal arthritis and many more.

If you suffer from chronic pain remember that you have options. Don’t rely on addicting pain medication or think that you will need major surgery. For pain management in Kirkland, Redmond, or the surrounding communities, visit Better Back and Body. Our team of professional massage therapists and chiropractors will work with you to create a treatment plan that heals you of your pain. Give us a call at 425-629-0326 to learn more about our services or to schedule an initial exam with a chiropractor in Kirkland today.

Are you experiencing pain with back, neck or other parts of your body, either minor or major? Has treatment at your family physician’s office been ineffective? If you answered yes, then it is likely time to visit a chiropractor. A chiropractor will offer a new take on your condition, and put together a treatment plan that will help you heal. Through a variety of techniques and noninvasive methods of treatment, a chiropractor can help relieve the pain of a number of ailments, including the following.

General Back Pain

Back pain can stem from any number of activities and accidents. If you have generalized upper, lower, middle or overall back pain, a chiropractor will be able to conduct an analysis of the issue and develop a treatment plan that will help reverse it.

The sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in your body, starting in the lower back, it splits and runs through your hips, buttocks, legs and feet on both sides. Pressure on the nerve as a result of a slipped disk or another injury can result in radiating pain that is often localized to the lower back area.

Herniated Disc

A herniated disc is a fairly common condition that can occur up and down the spine, however it most often causes issues in the lower back or the neck. A herniated disc is when one of the pads that sits between vertebrae in the spine moves out of position and apply pressure to nearby nerves. This may also be referred to as a ruptured disc or a slipped disc.

Degenerative Disc Disease

Degenerative disc disease is the name given to the natural breakdown of an intervertebral disc of the spine. It is not actually a disease or progressively degenerative. It most often results in lower back pain, neck pain or nerve pain, depending on the location of the disc that is affected by the condition.

Spinal Stenosis

This is a condition in which the spinal canal begins to narrow, thus pinching the nerves that run through it. This most often occurs in adults over the age of 50. It too can result in pain in the neck and lower back.

Back pain and neck pain can be caused many issues, most of which don’t require surgery or harsh medications to cure. If you want to relieve yourself of pain, be sure to visit a chiropractor. If you’re searching for a chiropractor in Kirkland you will want to contact Better Back & Body. We offer a variety of treatment options to ensure you can be the best you!
